Shot by Shot Analysis

'Bounce' Calvin Harris 

As you can see from the first minute of Calvin Harris' song 'Bounce' the shots are conventionally very quick and change in most cases every one or two seconds. I personally think that this video is fun and interesting to watch. I think this is partially to do with the quick shots that are used. I think for a successful music video, the video being interesting is important therefore by having a wide range of different shots and examples make it interesting and grabs the audience attention. After doing a shot by shot analysis of this music video I think it has given me a guide to having a lot of quick shots at a different range of angles and type of shots to make it interesting. I am going to try and achieve this in my video. All the shots throughout this video are well lit however seems naturalistic which I think is effective. Also it shows a clear narrative throughout the video. I think all these conventions are something I'd like people to see in my own music video.
